Outside my window…Sunny and cold. Dave spent Sunday clearing the yard
of the fallen branches and helping neighbors with downed trees. We were lucky, our rickety tree stayed put
and we only lost power for a few minutes.
On the spring cleaning list is to have the rickety tree taken down, we
may not be as lucky next time.
I am thinking. . . about how that one little hour of springing forward
can completely ruin my life for a week or so. Brendan’s new wake up time is
4:20 a.m. This is not fun.
I am thankful for. . . A strongly built house. And electricity. Lots of people here on the south shore don't have any. Actually lots of people here in my village don't have any.
From the schoolroom. . .Lots of work getting done. We are ahead in
math and chugging along in most things. I have not been very creative this
year, it is as yet too sad. There are so many first times of doing things
without Ryan that I need to try some new traditions because the old ones are
too bittersweet just yet.
the children have just seen a wood pecker on our deck so the sketch pads are
out and everyone is sketching the bird.
He’s quite bright and pretty.
From the kitchen. . . Shepherds pie. It’s a crazy evening with
running around and this can just sit on the stove and feed people as they
become available. And it fits in with the theme of the week J
I am wearing. . . Lands End navy blue turtleneck, ancient denim skirt (which
fits again!!), sheer hose, brown loafers, gold hoop earrings, my Ryan bracelet
and my gold Celtic cross.
I am going. . . to dance, an errand with
Dave, supermarket. A dear friend does dance pick up.
On the nightstand. . . Longing for My Child, it is a book of
reflections for parents who have lost a child. I hate that I am a parent who
has lost a child.
I am hoping. . . That it warms up a bit, we’d like to start doing
school at the park.
I am hearing. . . Brendan playing in his play yard, which is the only
way to keep the little monkey safe. He’s a climber.
On Pandora… Kenny Chesney,
Around the house. . .Just mopped everywhere. Another failed attempt at
toilet training. Sigh. You would think I would be better at this by now.
making plans for some spring cleaning and organizing. I have a few closets and
cabinets that scare me to death.
One of my favorite things. . . St. Patrick’s Day and all
of its celebrating.
A few plans for the rest of the week. . . First soccer practice happens Friday, which
has Erin very excited. I am going to start planning for a trip we will be
taking Easter week. We’ll need some new clothes and I need to start making
lists. It will be nice to get away.
Here is picture thought I am sharing. .
