Outside my window…Sunny and freezing. More snow is on the way. Tomorrow we are due for about five inches and then Wednesday will either be another ten inches of snow or a wicked rainstorm. Depends on which forecaster you are listening to. Either way it won’t be pleasant, we already have about two feet on the ground and getting around town is getting harder and harder.
I am thinking. . . A week full of feasts. Both Dave and Katie have birthdays (hard on the heels of a certain little guy who turned two last week) and we have some wonderful liturgical feasts to observe.
I am thankful for. . . good times with good friends. We had a nice weekend.
From the schoolroom. . . Kevin is currently doing a rain forest unit. He is loving studying jungles and buggy type things. We are doing a lapbook which I will share here soon. It’s nice to see him excited about his work.
From the kitchen. . . American chop suey tonight. Bread in the bread machine and we have a bunch of cakes to bake this week! In my house growing up American chop suey was called Aunt Helen’s pot pie. I have no idea why, it has no relationship to a pie and my Aunt Helen was not known for cooking. Ever. So who knows? It’s funny how families have these little quirks and names for things that only they understand (or don’t). Family culture.
I am wearing. . .Grey knit pants, oversize dark blue blouse, furry socks and shearling (fake) slippers. This will be replaced with boots later. Dangly earrings from a creative friend.
I am going. . . to flute lessons.
On the nightstand. . . Jesus Christ Bearer of the Water of Life…
In my prayers…. My mom and dad. People in Egypt.
I am hoping. . . for a productive week..
I am hearing. . . An unholy screeching. I should probably check on that.
Around the house. . . My quilt is hung, more on that later.
One of my favorite things. . . two year-olds.
Here is picture thought I am sharing.
