After the flurry of activity last week and anticipating the flurry of activity next week, I have been reveling in the brief respite of this week and enjoying all things domestic. Cooking, baking, cleaning, puttering and flower arranging.
I do love being home.
A quick trip to the thrift store resulted in a few treasures.
Brendan has been glued to that book ever since.
Roses from my garden adorn Our Lady of Guadalupe. This little pink statuette is actually a plastic holy water bottle that my friend Rocio brought me from the Basilica in Mexico. She makes an easy and pretty way to hold the holy water. This window is just to the left o the front door as you enter the house, where our font is located.
Our Lady of Grace is on my dresser. She was a gift of the Gunther family when Ryan died. Those are more roses from my flower garden. The card is from the Franciscan sisters in England thanking us for donating a Chalice that was given to us when Ryan died. It resides in their chapel and everytime Mass is celebrated with it Ryan's name is mentioned.
Was a mother ever more blessed?
On a lighter note, banana chocolate chip muffins on a tea towel.
One of two blueberry cobblers today. I took one to a dear friend yesterday morning. Another friend received this one in the evening. Quick and easy to make and they make a pretty summer treat for a friend who might need a little pick me up.
