As I am typing this the TV is tuned to a replay of the Holy Father’s arrival here in the U.S.
Welcome Holy Father!
The children are working on making a scrapbook of the visit. We started Sunday afternoon with a little craft to both illustrate the Gospel and the Holy Father’s role as the shepherd of Christ’s flock here on earth.
It’s hard to see but at the top is the holy card that was handed out to all of the children at Mass on Sunday and a little scripture quote that was attached to a white chocolate candy lamb that was attached to the card. Very sweet.
I read the Gospel to them again and we discussed Acts of the Apostles, guided by Magnifikids, we also talked about Pope Benedict and his role as shepherd. While I was talking they were making little lambs. It was just a way to keep fidgety children in the seat and busy while I spoke.
This morning already we have been working on the scrapbook.
The results….
We used PFlaum for this morning’s work. I plan to add a lot of newpaper articles and we’ll be narrating some of the coverage.
I am hoping to get it together enough today to bake a cake for His Holiness’ birthday today as well.
Father Fessio is on CNN now so I’m off.
Have a blessed day!
