Saint Brendan was an Irish monk. His job was to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To do that he had to find people who never heard of Jesus. It was dangerous to travel. People could be killed by pirates or bandits. The weather could storm and sink the boat.
Brendan built a boat called a coracle. The boat was made of leather.
Brendan sailed west to teach people about the Gospel. When he found land he would build monasteries.

Wow, Ryan, what an excellent narration! Many thanks for teaching me the meaning of the word, “coracle”!
