I LOVE Brendan and Brigid.
Another Irish name I love is Liam.
I just love Irish names!
I love them all, except for Conan (too closely associated with Conan O’Brien). Like Maureen, I am crazy about the name Liam and Irish names in general (in fact, one of my daughters has Maureen as a middle name!)
Your own name, “Mary,” is the most beautiful name there is! Your maiden name would also make an EXCELLENT first name for a boy.
I love most of them, too, though am less fond of Conan and Ronan (and can you imagine naming twin boys as such? They’d sound like a comedy team.)
I also love Liam, and Aidan (I’ve said for the last few years that if we ever have a boy, he’s an Aidan.)
For girls, I also like Maeve.
Ooh, I love Aiden. And Sean too.
Then for girls there is Maureen, Eileen, Colleen, Aileen . . .
Growing up, my two sisters and I were known as the ‘3 eens.’

Brendan is a great name… we chose it for our 6th baby who was born on Oct. 17th. Brendan Daniel. The light of our lives. Named for Brendan the Navigator.
I love Liam too, that was my top choice for my Brendan, but dh vetoed it. Brendan wasn’t my first choice but I love it now.
You will love the name no matter what you pick.
Is Ciara Irish?-sounds Italian, though it’s very pretty. My other Irish favorites are Ailish(sp?) & Fiona. God Bless your baby whatever you name her/him. I love your blog too. I found it through a CCM link.
