Yesterday BFITW and I drove down here to Chantilly, Virginia to attend the Immaculate Heart of Mary National Homeschool Conference. It is the first time either of us have managed to get to a conference and we are so pleased to be here.
This conference is really well organized. As a former event planner I am fully aware of how difficult that is. Aside from the great curriculum fair (I found two book stores I was unaware of!!!) the speakers are simply amazing. I had the great privilege of being able to hear Dr. Alice Von Hildebrand speak and then to actually speak, briefly, to her while she signed a few of her books for me. She is a beautiful and engaging speaker. That session itself was worth the trip.
Fr. Paul Scalia spoke about Your Children: One, Good, True and Beautiful. It was such an inspiring perspective on our children. I am definitely going to purchase the CD ~ I’ll need to hear it again and again.
There were many others and I would love to share it all but I have to dash, hopefully I will get back to the laptop later.
Have a blessed day!
