A commenter, calling himself Joe the Plumber, on my previous post had this to say….
First, it is a completely false statement to say the Obama wants to kill
unborn babies. Second, unborn babies are protected under law just not in the way
you wish them to be. Third, slaves actually did have a voice, they were born and
could and did speak. Fourth, slaves were protected under law, they were personal
property.
Whoa. Joe you are living in LaLa Land. You are deluded beyond reason.
Lets take it one at a time.
"First, it is a completely false statement to say the Obama wants to kill
unborn babies."
By his own admission Senator Obama promises to sign the Freedom of Choice Act as his first official act as President. He has said on numerous occasions that he wants abortion to be widely available and funded by tax payer dollars. All of this will result in the death of unborn babies. Now maybe he, and many like him, don’t like to think of it in those terms but that doesn’t make it less true. Wake up Joe. Abortion = dead babies. Pretty simple.
"Second, unborn babies are protected under law just not in the way
you wish them to be."
Joe I’m thinking you would not be feeling the warm fuzzy protection of the law if it were legal for me to come by one night while you were sleeping and suck your brains out, crush your skull and throw you in the garbage. The fact is your pet poodle has more protection under law than my unborn baby. (I don’t know why but you strike me as a poodle owning kind of guy).
"Third, slaves actually did have a voice, they were born and
could and did speak. "
Ok Joe lets visit high school English class for a moment. That was a metaphor. Go look it up I’ll wait.
Are you back? I was comparing the voicelessness of a pre-born baby to that of a slave. Now there is no doubt that slaves could and did speak. It was just not going to do them any good. A slave that voiced an opinion about how he was being treated or his desire for freedom was merely putting his life in danger. That renders them as a people fairly voiceless. I’m sorry if I confused you there. My readers are generally aware of the general rules of writing.
"Fourth, slaves were protected under law, they were personal
property."
Joe dear, if I were you I would go back to wherever you went to high school and demand that they give you a better education. You were robbed Joe. Slaves were not protected under law they were not regarded as human. Their owners rights to buy, sell, trade and own slaves were protected. Slaves could be killed arbitrarily by their owners. They could be sold, beaten and denied medical care. Horses has better protection under law in this country in the 1800’s than did slaves.
Thanks Joe for leaving your nutty comment. I always enjoy discourse with the uninformed and delusional. This one’s for you Joe.

Loved all your election posts. 🙂
I tried to have a cat put down (long story) a few months ago when I was about 30 weeks pregnant with my youngest…I could *not* find a vet to do it. They wouldn’t do it! It occured to me that I could have aborted my unborn child, but I couldn’t do anything about that danged cat.
