Outside my window. . It’s grey and still. The temps are supposed to
be in the low 40s so that is good, I hate being cold. The port-a-potty left
from the construction was finally hauled away. As a lawn ornament it lacked
pizzaz.
I am thinking. . . about this baby. He’s determined to kick
his way out. Still very high up and very, very active.
I am thankful for. . . Tums!
From the schoolroom. . .Back to work. I am delighted to be back into a
semi-routine. We still have carpenters and painters upstairs but it is
relatively quiet and we had a good start yesterday.
From the kitchen. . . Tuesday is crazy, run
around activity day I get in the car at 4:45 and don’t get out
until 8:30 so dinner is going to be a chicken pot pie made early and just kept
in the warming oven for those who wander in at different times.
I am wearing. . .Grey long sleeved t-shirt, denim maternity jumper
(it looks like a tent), brown wool argyle socks, brown cardigan and crocs. I’ll
change to tights and shoes when I go out. Left the hair curly today, too lazy
to fuss, and make-up applied.
I am going. . .Irish step dance (three times) basketball, the
storage locker to look for some history books, to buy diapers (we are down to
one diaper and are living on borrowed time).
I am reading. . . I Know An Old Lady That Swallowed A Fly….30 times a day, it’s
Bridgie’s current favorite Other than that
nothing. I just ordered the new Ann Coulter book
and I have this
book in my hospital bag I saw it on Meredith's blog and I thought it
was something I should read.
I am hoping. . .the painters and carpenters are outta here before
the baby arrives. It’s a real race now.
I am hearing. . . Kevin and Sean playing cars.
Around the house. . .The kids are upstairs in their new rooms, Dave and I
move up this weekend. The final carpet delivery is tomorrow and
the living room, dining room, kitchen, guest room, downstairs bath and study
are supposed to be finished by Friday.
Don’t hold your breath. At this point anything the painter says to me is open
to the broadest possible interpretation. I neglected to ask which Friday….
One of my favorite things. . . my Maternity Belly Band. I cannot believe I was on my eighth pregnancy before I heard of these little gems.
Totally eliminates the exposed belly problem that maternity clothes made for
size 0 fifteen year olds leave us more “mature” mothers with. It helps keep the
tights and jeans up as well. I have one in white and one in black and I love
them.
A few plans for the rest of the week. . . I want to try to
make a few meals for the freezer. We have music lessons, ice skating,
basketball, choir, and baby laundry to finish up. Let the nesting commence…

Oh progress! Thanks for sharing the report. I bet you and the kids are glad to be done living in the basement.

By the way, I went to the librayry and checked out the Mother Angelica book by Raymond Arroyo yesterday. I look forward to reading it, especially since it pretty much “jumped out and bit me” while I was in line.

two thoughts…
I think at this point argyle socks and crocks are just fine, cute and preppy even.
and…
I just loved I Know an Old Lady That Swallowed a Fly as a child. I found an old copy at the thrift store. As an adult I must admit I can’t quite figure out what I thought was so appealing.
God bless!
