This is Mary Ellen's friend, Chris posting. We are asking for urgent prayers for her son, Ryan. An extensive search is being conducted and Mary Ellen was driven to the site three hours away by a dear friend.
PLEASE, anyone reading this, join your prayers with all who love Mary Ellen for the safe and speedy return of Ryan. Mary Ellen is hoping for Ryan to be covered in a massive prayer chain. Please post this request on any blogs or online groups you can.

My day is being offered up for Ryan right now and I will pray throughout the day.

I came across this blog when someone suggested an article that they wanted me to read. I am so sorry that this has happened and I am PRAYING for you. My son is autistic and 6 years old. He has wandered from me twice. Once when he was 3 and we were at Busch Gardens, the second time was a few months ago in the park. Both times he was intercepted quickly before he got far, but I know this fear, I have felt it. It is a parent’s worst nightmare.
For all the mothers of special needs children, please know that there are very discrete GPS devices that can be sewn onto clothing that will set an alarm off if a child crosses a pre-determined perimeter and will show where the child is located. It doesn’t take all of the fear away but it is a stop gap measure that can help parents be able to do family outings without lots of anxiety.
Susan says
I am praying for you and will light a candle at Dormition Liturgy this morning.
Jennifer Mackintosh says
Oh, Mary Ellen…there are just no words. My heart aches so! May Our Lady hold your entire family close…and may precious Ryan console you from his place in heaven!

Our Mother, your Mother, Ryan’s heavenly Mother, is surely holding him now as she once did her own son.
When I went to a daily prayer site there was this scripture, which seemed intended for here;
“We know that when the tent that we live in on earth is folded up, there is a house built by God for us, an everlasting home not made by human hands, in the heavens.” (2 Cor 5:1)
