Bonny Blue Days…

Outside my window…Sunny, chilly and very green. The azaleas are in
bloom and the lilac is almost there. Should make for some lovely pictures this
weekend.

I am thinking. . . About my girl and her First Holy Communion Saturday.
It has been a real joy preparing her for this important moment.

I am thankful for. . . Homeschooling and the opportunity to be such
an intimate part of the education and formation of my children.  I am also supremely thankful to my husband who
works so hard to make it all possible

From the schoolroom. . .Today school took place early and the fast
and dirty edition.  Right now we are
having a home ec lesson. Kevin is scrubbing baseboards, Erin and Kelli are mopping
and Katie is cleaning bathrooms. Yes, our houseguests arrive tomorrow.

From the kitchen. . . Chicken cutlets, roasted red potatoes and a
vegetable. Nothing fancy.

I am wearing. . . Khaki pants, white tunic top and loafers.

I am going. . . to drop off one at the
library to meet her math tutor, yes she is beyond me, and no where else.

On the nightstand. . . Re-reading
some homeschool classics to gain inspiration for next year. Real
Learning: Education in the Heart of the Home by Elizabeth Foss and A Charlotte
Mason Companion by Karen Andreola. Totally going old school CM next year.

I think.

I am hoping. . . That it warms up a bit more, we’d like to start
doing school at the park.

I am hearing. . . Brendan on the monitor. He’s awake from a nap and
talking to something in the crib. Probably his bear.

Around the house. . .I did a thorough de-clutter and clean up in the
little girls room, the little boy’s room and Kevin’s room last week. My own
room is next on the agenda and I am dying to get to the storage room. That will
have to wait until school is officially done though. I have a handyman coming
in the next few days to install a closet system in our pantry closet in the
basement. It’s not functioning at all well and I’m going to make better use of
the space.
