Today's prize is a duo. First off the lucky winner will receive a one-year subscription to Mater Et Magistra Magazine. This is timely for me since the summer issue will be edited by me. Yes, I will be at the helm for this one and I am slightly freaked out by the responsibility of it. So you have to subscribe (or win) and tell me how I've done. 🙂 (Shameless plug finished).

The second part is a copy of Regina Doman's novel The Shadow of the Bear. Regina is an online friend and an immensely talented fiction writer. She captured my teen with this novel, keeping her up half the night to finish it in one sitting. The rest of the series was quickly devoured. Your teen will love this modern retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. It is truly good literature.

Regina also blogs at House Art Journal one of my favorite homekeeping, inspirational reads.

  40. I have a subscription already, so if I won I would give it to another homeschooling mom. It is one of two magazines I’ll pay for (the other being Faith and Family Live). I would love the Regina Doman book. I’ve been curious about them for a long time, but my girls won’t be teens for a few years yet.

  43. love your blog and would love to win the subscription to Mater Et Magistra. I have a 2.5yr old and a newborn and am making my first real homeschooling plans – I’m very excited. The novel sounds great – I am very close with my oldest niece who is 15 and a voracious reader. I’m always on the lookout for new things for her. She can’t stand the regular poorly-written teen stuff, but is not quite ready for the more mature themes of adult fiction writers.
