Outside my window…It has been a rainy morning but the sun is peaking
through, or at least trying to.
I am thinking. . . About packing for a weekend adventure. Not just packing either, why does the prospect of being away from my home for twenty-four hours make me plan for every possible far-fetched eventuality. I stock the pantry cook meals, iron clothes, pay bills, clean closets. What's that about?
I am thankful for. . . My darling husband. And a nice visit with some favorite nieces (not my only favorite nieces, I have many :)).
From the schoolroom. . .DONE! Whoo hoo! Happy dance time. Until two
weeks from now when we begin some light summer schooling.
From the kitchen. . . I have no idea.
I am wearing. . . Khaki pants, grey t-shirt, grey mary-jane sneakers,
I am going. . . to Manassas, tomorrow. I’ll
be attending the IHM National Homeschooling Conference. Will I see you there? I’m
traveling with three ladies, Chris (of course) , Joanne and Colleen. We are
very excited.
On the nightstand. . . the new
issue of Mater et Magistra (it’s wonderful – have you subscribed? If not why not?)
I am hoping. . . for a fun weekend and that Dave enjoys his time
alone with the children.
I am hearing. . . Water running. Not good. Best go check.
On Pandora… Not really listening
to much lately, too busy playing with my Kindle .
On Kindle… Romeo and Juliet (because the children were just in that play), Murder Makes Waves, The Complete Works of Jane Austen.
Around the house. . . I cleaned out the learning room yesterday.
Everything is all clean and ready for a new year. Or it will be when I get the
room painted. We have also been sprucing up outside. I cleaned and refilled the sand box, Dave opened up the pool, I opened the kiddie pool and I planted many, many flowers and pots of veggies. I put the veggies in pots because I need to chase the sun and my yard is very shady. All the sun is in places where the children play so I can't devote a big space to a vegetable garden. We also have a serious raccoon issue here and they mess with gardens. They use them as litter boxes (ahem) and it is truly nasty. So pots it is. I planted eggplant, beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, and tons of herbs.
One of my favorite things. . . Going places with
girlfriends.
Here are some pictures I am sharing.

Have a wonderful time at IHM!! I wish I could be there.
We have had something use our raised garden bed as a litterbox too. I couldn’t figure out if it was a cat or a raccoon. Both are bleh!!

P.S. You are a way better mom than I am. I haven’t done anything to prepare the house for my leaving.
