I made a vow awhile back never to begin school the Monday after a big holiday week. Usually when we begin back on a Monday I feel rushed and unprepared due to the after effects of holiday merry-making. So we will start school work tomorrow. This worked out well because we all have sniffly snuffly colds and no one wants to do much anyway.
So today I ran a few quick errands in the morning, Staples and Michaels as well as having to drop by our Village Hall to replace one of our recycle bins that mysteriously disappeared last week.
When I got started I first cleaned off what was our Advent table and set up some of our winter books. We don't really have a nature table yet for winter so until we get out and do some wandering we'll just be literary :).
The light was a little tricky and you all know I'm not so much a photographer.
Then I set to work setting up their work. Both Katie and Erin have email addresses to keep in touch wih family and friends. Every week I send them their assignments via a Google doc spreadsheet. This has worked very well for us since it allows me to keep a record of what we have done I email copies to Dave to keep me accountable and the girls can either check online or print out their schedules and keep track of their work that way. Here is an example of one of Katie's spreadsheet.
For Kelli and Kevin I have just been loosely following CHC while adding in some other things but this week I will be making up similar schedules for them. I am hoping to have time to share some of what we are doing, maybe later in the week.
Well, it's late and I have some more to do so I'll leave you with some pictures of the set up for tomorrow.
Copywork assignments for tomorrow.
The bulletin board decorated and starting to fill up.
Work table scrubbed and ready to go.
Chalkboard has a clue to our craft for the day.
Have a blessed evening!

I hear you on the Monday thing. I never schedule any appointments on a Monday because it really messes me up for the week.
Thank you for the winter book reminder. I just remembered some cool printouts from Jan Brett that I wanted the littler ones to play with during quiet reading time! :o)
Did you know that Snowflake Bentley had an official site? My boys seemed to like looking at what was there.
