I shamelessly copied from the lovely, that artist woman blog. It is the Owl Mixed Media project and it fit in well here because I have a thing for owls and I am the one picking the projects :).
We followed the steps that Gail lists in her blog pretty closely but each project was uniquely each child's. All four of them realy enjoyed the whole process and since the twins were out for the morning and Brendan was feeling his cold and content to watch a Thomas the Tank Engine Video we did not have the interference or defensive actions that usually accompany art lessons around here. I didn't take as many pictures as I would like since I was busy helping, running and fetching.
Katie loves having her picture taken :).

I think they came out really well, do't you?

Wow, these look terrific, and the art blog that you linked to is a great resource. I really like how she gives such solid step by step instructions as I am art-inpaired.
Do you do an art project every week?
Mary Ellen Barrett says
Hi Mary Alice! Miss you. I wish we did do an art lesson every week but it takes so much time that we really only get in one serious one a month. We do picture study once a week and lots of crafts but hands on art work really doesn’t happen as often. When the little ones are bigger I’m hoping it will get easier.

They are wonderful! WE are loving our art lessons this yr too, very casual and happen when the fancy stikes us! We are huge owl lovers here, might have to kick off the year with this one 🙂 Happy New Year again and thanks for sharing these!
