I believe that this adminstration is stepping all over religious freedom in this country.
I believe it is necessary that every American be outraged over this regardless of their religous or non religious beliefs.
I believe the businesses and organizations that are actively defying the assualt on our freedom known as the HHS Mandate should be supported both prayerfully and when possible financial.
I believe these protests will ultimately win the day.
So this is what I did.
On the recent Shop Hobby Lobby Day I purchased a $20 gift card. There are no Hobby Lobby stores anywhere near me so this was my gesture of support. However, I can't use the card because there are no stores nearby so dear readers I'm giving it away.
Leave a comment on this post telling me what you would buy with your gift card and what you will make with it, you all know I am craft impaired and need ideas, and I will throw them all in a hat and pick a name. If you link it on Facebook or your blog I will toss you in twice.
I'll leave comments open until Friday and post a winner sometime Saturday.
Have a lovely day!
Blessings,

I hopped on over here after I saw your link on Catholic Bloggers Network! What a great way to support HL by buying a gift card even though you don’t have one close by! I went in to our local HL store for the first time on HL Day and it was hustling and bustling! I can’t think of anything creative off the top of my head if I won the gift card, but I would buy the handprint stones so I could capture my kid’s handprints or buy one for the new baby coming in August!
I linked your giveaway to my personal FB page at “Tracy Bua Smith” and on my Catholic blog FB page at “A Slice of Smith Life”. Great giveaway!

What a great idea! There is no Hobby Lobby near me, so I don’t want to win, but I wanted to tell you I thought it was a great idea. My cousin’s husband works for Hobby Lobby and they sound like a fabulous company to work for.

What a great idea, Mary Ellen! I would love do the same on my blog. Well, you know what I would buy and make. Beads to make more rosaries. 😉

I’d buy my 5 year old son the space-ship he saw there when we went last week (unplanned, but on the big “show support for Hobby Lobby day”).

Thanks for the giveaway. We are somewhat craft-challenged here, but we shop at Hobby Lobby for scrapbooking paper, yarn, beads, candles, and other things that even we (or at least some of us) can’t mess up (too badly) or decorative things. So we’d put a $20 gift card to good use. But don’t forget you (or Christine if she wins) can shop online even though there aren’t stores near you…. they even have free shipping sometimes.

What a great idea! I don’t have a hobby lobby near me either (where are these magical places located anyway? No matter where I live I can’t seem to find one) but i would use a gift card to shop online for either fabric to make clothes or yarn to continue my hat making spree.

Wow Mary Ellen,
I’m sorry for you, because we have Hobby Lobby on 3 sides of our neighborhood within a few miles. Someone in the family always needs art supplies. Or a birthday gift for nieces or sisters. You are so sweet to support them like this! God bless,
Gwen

I would buy something fun to make – beads, paper stuff. Fun, fun, fun! Thanks for the opportunity!

My daughter loves to make journals with paper, beads, and ribbon. Thank you so much for supporting companies like HL.

I am sure there is at least one science kit we do not own yet.

My 7 year old daughter is the crafty one in our family (I have no idea where she got it from) and Hobby Lobby is her favorite store. She is really into painting sun catchers right now and giving them away as gifts. If I were to win I’d probably give her the money and let her stock up on paint, sun catchers, and her ever-present glitter glue.

I don’t have a Hobby Lobby near me, but visit the one at my MIL’s. It’s so great, much better than Michael’s or AC Moore. And their products clearly show their Christian ownership.
They have great selections on calligraphy supplies, great science kits, and great “I Love This Cotton” Yarn.
