Hello dear friends! I hope you are having a lovely summer. I sure am but it has been a bit hectic.
Do you believe it's almost August? It seems to go by oh, so quickly. I'm looking forward to starting school back up again, we begin in August, but I'm holding on to the days dearly since Kate will be leaving at the end of the summer to begin her college adventures.
This summer is seeing us doing a lot of coming and going. Erin attended Camp Veritas last week and loved it but there was a big gap in our home without her. She was greeted home with squeals of delight from the young ones, they love her so much.
Kevin will be leaving for Boy Scout Camp soon and he is very excited. I am less excited. Why is everyone suddenly taking off? They point out to me that I have been traveling all summer speaking at homeschool conferences, but that's different. ๐ They are my babies and they should stay home. Or something.
So I am simultaneously grasping on to the last bits of summer and also planning for the new school year. We will be less one and it is my last kinder person to plan for (gulp). It's all good.
Are you all planning away? Or are you completely put together and all ready to begin? Or are you in denial about the whole thing (hey, no judging here, been there and done that).
To help you out with the orgazining and planning I am going to do a little give-a-way here. Michele Quigley, who is my very dear friend and the creative genius behind the Catholic Mother's Daily Planner has donated two planners for me to give to you. So here is what we are going to do, I have one three hole punched and one spiral bound both large. I am going to give away one here on the blog and one at my speaking engagement this weekend. I will be at the IHM Conference in Dobbs Ferry, New York on Friday and Saturday.
I will also include some little things that I love to use when planning my year. Surprises are fun are they not?
So blog readers get first crack. Leave me a comment here and if you are on Facebook you can link to the blog for a second entry. Twitter gets you a third, just leave the link. The winner, who will be picked on Thursday, will get to pick which planner she wants. The other will be given away at the conference.
See how much I love you guys? You get first pick!
So, start commenting and sharing and I will pick you a winner on Thursday. My procrastinating self made it possible that you won't get the planner August 1st, when it begins, but a day or two won't matter too much will it? I hope not.
I'm so glad to begin my new school year with all of you.

Mary Ellen, where is Kate going to college? I can’t remember. Good luck to her! I am sending off my 2nd this Aug., too. It’s going to be harder to send off my oldest girl!

I would love, love, love a planner. We are just starting out on our home school journey – my daughter turned five in June, so we’ll be starting to do kindergarten with her this year. Any tips for a newbie just starting out? I was home schooled myself, so I do have some idea where it’s all going, but it is very different being on the parent side of things!
