Saints preserve us!

These are my newly painted doors. Painting is not my superpower so they are not perfectly painted, and neither is the trim but they are fresh and clean and that counts for much. Slowly but surely the entire downstairs will painted over the spring. I hope.
Should I paint that french door (to our home office) white to match the other doors? My husband has palpitations every time I mention it. He thinks painting over nice wood is sinful somehow. Along with putting nails in walls and tape on anything.
What do you think?
