I've had the great good fortune to know Pat Gohn for years both online and in real life. She's an amazing woman herself, apologist, evangelist as well as being an author, mentor and a lot of fun in the bargain.
My review of her book, Blessed, Beautiful and Bodacious is here.
I was happy and honored to be asked to be a guest on her Amazing Woman podcast click here to listen to speak about grief, loss and my Ryan. The interview, I hope, focuses on love, hope and the value of family and friendship during the darlest hours. We laughed quite a bit. It's hard not to enjoy yourself with Pat, even if the subject matter is difficult, she has such a great spirit.
I hope you will consider clicking through and having a listen. The episode also includes a segment on St. Anna Schaffer (of whom I was unfamiliar) and some reflections written by one of my favorites, St. Francis De Sales.
I hope that the podcast can breathe a little life and hope into anyone who is suffering from loss. Dave and I have been so fortunate to, no only, have our friends and family to lean on when missing Ryan but to really feel that the prayers of all the people who have heard our story have served to strengthen our faith that God's plan includes joy for us all and someday we will all be together again.
Until then, there is joyful hope.

So inspiring to listen to, I learned more about your beloved, Ryan. I imagine him singing with the choir of angels now. 5 years ago….and still… I too was even more emotional witnessing the response to prayer for the Barrett family – the power and good of Catholic social media. God bless!

I just listened to this now and I am in tears thinking of Ryan being “on the altar” in his chalice with his name on it. What a beautiful idea. My children and I constantly invoke his intercession. Thank you for sharing your stories. xo

I’ve never done a podcast, so for me that sounds like a lot of fun. I’m sorry it was on such a hard topic to talk about in which you were featured. I’m sure you’ve blessed many people with your message though.
